Sean, 4 June 2009, 7:40 PM:
Dr. Manhattan
I would certainly argue that Dr. Manhattan is an atheist as well.

Mark, 15 December 2009, 3:26 PM:

I would also say that Mr. Marx probably loved apple pie and mothers.... hence his wish to see them freed from capitalism...

[Editor's note: This commenter (Mark) is referring to the reference to Karl Marx as being an enemy of "The Pope, Uncle Sam, Mom and apple pie." This may seem like a peculiar set of enemies, but it is a direct reference to the cover of a specific comic book which feature Marx as a major character. The cover of Action Philosophers #4 (Dec. 2005) - which our "Karl Marx" page links directly to -- graphically presents Marx as the enemy of the Pope, Uncle Sam, and an iconic American mother holding a Thanksgiving turkey. The assessment of Marx as an enemy of "Mom and apple pie" is based on this comic book and its cover, and is not based on any type of assessment of the historical Karl Marx.]
