Number of characters in this sub-list: 185 (out of a total of 30,105 in the database). Records 1 through 50 displayed below.
The "Christian (denomination unknown)" category is used for characters which are identifiably Christian in their religious affiliation (whether or not they are devout), but who can not be further categorized into a specific denomination (such as Methodist, Quaker, etc.) or even a specific branch of Christianity (such as Catholic or Protestant). In real life, nobody actually fits into the "Christian (denomination unknown)" category because everybody knows at least enough to identify what branch of Christianity they belong to. (People can at least say whether they are Catholic or not, whether they are Latter-day Saint or not, etc.). Although this category includes some devout Christians, many of the characters in the "Christian (denomination unknown)" category are not at all devout. Devout Christian characters are usually portrayed engaging in religious behavior, thought and discussion enough to glean specific branch or denominational identification. This "denomination unknown" category should always be regarded as transitory. If a character is portrayed in more detail or if we read more of their existing stories, we should be able to move them into a more specific category.
