Maalock is mystical entity invoked by followers of the ancient magic-using religious group known as the Cult of Zhered-Na. When Cult of Zhered-Na leader Joshua Kale sent his granddaughter Jennifer Kale and their friend, Man-Thing, to the Sandt dimension in search of the Tome of Zhered-Na, the "Mists of Maalock" were used for cross-dimensional transport.
