Dr. Anderson played an integral role in the origin of Captain America. However, as depicted in his Golden Age original appearance, the origin of Captain American originally featured J. Arthur Grover in this same role. When the origin of Captain America was revisited and told anew during the Silver Age, it was Doctor Anderson in this role. "The Origin of Captain America" in Tales of Suspense #63 (Mar. 1965) is essentially a retelling of the story "Meet Captain America," originally published decades earlier in Captain America Comics #1. It is not really clear why Stan Lee renamed (or "recast") this particular character.
