Mr. and Mrs. Campbell were tenants of Moira MacTaggert, the famed geneticist and long-time X-Men ally. The Campbells' daughter Mary turned out to be a mutant and also became the first diagnosed victim of the Retribution Virus. Moira MacTaggert was able to devise an antivirus cure for their daughter.
