The main story arc featuring Arthur Chekov revolves around Christmas time and his disappointment that his granddaughter Bette did not show up for the important celebration. It may not be possible to determine Chekov's precise denominational affiliation from this story (one would need to read it carefully to be sure). But it is clear that Christmas is very important to ths character and that he is at least nominally Christian.

Because Arthur Chekov is a boarder of Aunt May's, Peter Parker knows him. Peter decides to help Chekov's drug addict daughter Bette as Spider-Man, and actually succeeds in doing so with the help of the Watcher himself. The whole thing ends up being something of a Christmas miracle.
