Martin Davis tricked the people in his boarding school into believing that he was a mutant with telepathy. He had no actual powers. He simply snuck around and placed self-made audio bigs in people's rooms. He was thus privy to many secrets, and he lied to people, telling them he had telepathy.

The school's headmaster brought in X-Factor to investigate. They discovered the truth.
