Dixie Edison was apparently a strong-willed and very ideological young woman. She pretended to be kidnapped because her father refused to return 1000 acres of land to Seattle-area farmers. She was returned home by the mercenary known as Paladin. But one must wonder: Were Dixie's unconventional actions motivated purely by sincere belief in the farmers' cause? Or was there some desire on her part to "stick it" to her wealthy father, in retaliation for some perceived slight or character flaw? Dixie may well be a mixture of idealogue and rebellious daughter.
