Eon was said to be the offspring of Eternity and Infinity, who are two of the of the most powerful cosmic entities in existence. Eon was described as a "supreme being," whose power was like that of a god. Eon was the appointer of the "protector of the universe." Eon appointed Mar-Vell to be "protector of the universe" and later appointed Quasar to that role.
