An unnamed police officer was the principal officer on the scene where petty thieves Alan and Paul broke into Guy Gardner's rented storage unit. The thieves accidentally triggered a mysterious lantern that Kyle Rayner was having Guy Gardner hang onto. The lantern caused Alan to switch places with the superhero known as The Atom from the Tangent universe. Justice League members Red Arrow, Black Canary and John Stewart came to the scene at the request of police and were filled in with what was happening by the unnamed police officer.
