John was a bodyguard for Dr. Cobleskill, a fanatical anti-racism activist known also as the mutant villain Peace Monger. Unlike Aaron, who was also identified as a member of Peace Monger's gang, John was only identified as the man's bodyguard. (This may, however, be merely an artifact of variation in indexing, and not stem from any actual difference between John and Aaron. One would need to read the story to be sure.) Although unconfirmed, it seems likely that John shared his boss's radical anti-racism ideology, at least to some extent. There is no indication, however, that John took part in Cobleskill's most deplorable and dangerous acts of "activism," such as inciting race riots to make a point.
