Joy Meachum is the daughter of Harold Meachum, who was the business partner of Iron Fist's father. Joy long blamed Iron Fist for the death of her father. Finally, she learned the truth: Iron Fist had nothing to do with her father's death. Furthermore, her father had killed Iron Fist's father long ago. After learning these facts, Joy Meachum helped Iron Fist gain his shares in the company their father's had co-owned. Joy Meachum continued to run the company while Iron Fist focused on his activities as a hero.
