There are clear parallels between the story of "the Worrier" and the story of Noah from the Old Testament.

The Worrier was an elderly member of an alien society, a native of the planet Tojana. The Time Lord known as the Seventh Doctor warned the people of Tojana that a massive tide was rolling in, but that life could go on despite this. All the people of Tojana apparently died in a final hedonistic bout of self-indulgence. But "the Worrier" listened to the Doctor and survived the tide by joining him on a hastily-constructed raft.

"The Worrier" is likely not what this character called himself, but he is actually referred to by this moniker by his fellow citizens. He apparently had a well known reputation for worrying about things. When the other aliens referred to "The Worrier," the Doctor at one point misheard them and thought they said, "The Warrior."
