Mort's first and only appearance was in a dream that D.P.7 paranormal Randy O'Brien had. The dream was induced by a paranormal Clinic operative named Harlan Hackbarth, a man who had the ability to create and manipulate dream scenarios. The other people Randy saw in his dream were all real people Randy knew from the Clinic, so it is likewise a real person Randy knew from the Clinic. But he was never seen outside of Randy's dream, so it is possible he was not even a "real" person within Randy's reality (Marvel's "New Universe", or Earth-148611).
