Dr. Karl Kort was the Communist agent known as "The Wrecker." The Wrecker infiltrated Gamma Base in the United States in order to destroy Dr. Bruce Banner's electromagnetic wave defense device. The Wrecker used a giant robot to frame the Hulk for sobatage. Dr. Kort's plans were thwarted, however, when the robot was destroyed by the Thing and Dr. Kort himself was exposed by the Fantastic Four and the Hulk.
