Mrs. Pearse regularly cleaned the church presided over by Father Hector Redondo, who, unbeknownst to her, was also the villain known as The Holy. Mrs. Pearse was presumably a Catholic who either volunteered to clean the church she attended or (even more likely) had been hired through her connection to the church.

Mrs. Pearse had particularly bad hearing and eyesight. One day she came to clean the church on the wrong day. Father Redondo was there at the church, in the middle of cleaning up a mess left from his having killed somebody there. Because of her poor eyesight and hearing, Mrs. Pearse never realized a crime had taken place there. She remained completely unaware of Father Redondo's criminal activities and was seen cleaning up at the church on subsequent occasions.
