Ned Campbell was a mutant living in District X. He was married to a fellow mutant, Carol Campbell. Ned was having an adulterous gay affair on the astral plane with a gay man named Kim. When Ned's husband Carol found out about the affair, she became so irate that she seriously injured herself with her own flame powers. (She was not immune to her own mutant power.)
Ned Campbell died fighting the mutant super-hero Wolfsbane, who was working on the case as an operative for X-Factor Investigations.
