Connor Lauglin was a mutant with telepathic powers who suffered from severe combined immunodeficiency. His mutant powers were discovered when he was mentally linked up with Rogue and Rachel Summers. These two members of the X-Men just happened to be visiting the hospital where Connor was being treated.

After his powers were discovered, Connor was treated by Dr. Hank McCoy of the X-Men.

Connor's father was a doctor who was very much a mutaphobe. But experiences changed his stance and he became more accepting of mutants.
