On a number of occasions, Reptyl invoked "Sauro", who is apparently a an important deity in Reptyl's native religion.

In Avengers: Celestial Quest #3 told Reptyl of his intention to create his own pantheon of gods. He offered to grant Reptyl great power if he would serve him. Reptyl accepted his offer because he wanted to raise a reptile to the height of godhood. Reptyl's time as a "reptile god of pirates" was brief, however.
