In Action Comics #242 (July 1958), Superman visits the bottle city of Kandor for the first time. Professor Kimda gives Superman a tour of the miniaturized Kryptonian city. In panel 3 on page 11 Kimda explains, "Tireless robot farmhands raise our crops for food!" Two metal-gray robots with spherical heads are shown hoeing.
