Ensign Sat Kem-Arr is one of the Kryptonian Stellar Navy soldiers who, along with Karsta Wor-Ul, deserted the military so that they did not need to return to Krypton and give up their yellow sun-spawned super powers. Most of these deserters were eventually captured or killed by authorities or the anti-Kryptonian mercenary Amalak.

Ensign Sat Kem-Arr is first named in panel 3 on page 9 in Superman #669. Ensign Sat Kem-Arr deploys a solar grenade that duplicates the energies of a young yellow star. This gives the deserting Kryptonian soldiers super powers so that they can continue their escape.
