An unnamed alien with long hair and apparently no mouth or nose was part of Amalak's crew of mercenaries. In their starship, Amalak and his crew searched the galaxy for surviving Kryptonians and killed any that they found. They came to Earth and tried to kill Superman, Supergirl, Power Girl, and other Kryptonians there, including the citizens of the bottle city of Kandor.

This unnamed alien is probably a member of an alien race Superman has encountered before. Another mercenary who is a crewmate of this long-haired alien is Talam-Sa, a Xudarian (i.e., a member of the same alien race as Tomar-Re, of the Green Lantern Corps).

The long-haired alien apparently has no mouth, nose or ears, but this may only be because he (or she?) wears a face mask. This alien clearly is able to speak and hear normally.

This long-haired alien is first seen in panel 3 on page 1 in Superman #668 (Early Dec. 2007). In this panel, the ship's captain, Amalak, has asked Talam-Sa to display on the viewscreen the Kryptonian their ship's sensors got a strong lock on. Amalak says, "Show me."

The long-haired alien explains (speaking about Superman), "He is in rapid motion at present, traveling through the southern hemisphere of the planet. He is approaching a small landmass. He is accelerating . . ."

This unnamed long-haired alien is seen throughout the 3-issue "Third Kryptonian" story arc in scenes set in the present day involving Amalak. Along with the Xudarian named Talam-Sa, the long-haired alien appears to be a chief lieutenant of Amalak. There are many other crew members and mercenaries working under Amalak on this ship, but Talam-Sa and the long-haired aien are the two who always appear to be near the commander.

The long-haired alien appears again in Superman #668 in panel 2 on on page 19 (page 23 in the Superman: The Third Kryptonian trade paperback). Superman #669 mostly features a re-telling of the background of Karsta Wor-Ul, the titular "Third Kryptonian" and the beginnings of her life of fleeing and hiding from Amalak. The final page of this issue (page 50 in the trade paperback) is a splash page showing Amalak finally catching up to Wor-Ul in her California home while Superman is there. Amalak is flanked in this scene by his chief lieutenants, Talam-Sa and the long-haired alien.

Superman #670 features a prolonged battle between Amalak and his mercenary crew against Superman and Earth's other Kryptonian heroes, including Supergirl and Power Girl. The long-haired alien is presumably an important part of this conflict, but curiously enough is not actually depicted in the story. (Talam-Sa, on the other hand, is featured prominently.) Rick Leonardi drew all three issues of this story arc. One might wonder where the long-haired alien disappeared to in the final conflict once Amalak and his forces actually engaged Superman and his fellow Kryptonians in battle.
