Dean Hauser told Beast (Hank McCoy) that he wouldn't hire him at Harvard Medical School, despite the fact that McCoy was more than qualified. This was apparently not solely the decision of Hauser. He claimed that he was under pressure from others on the faculty. People did not want to hire McCoy because he was a mutant.
