Cindy Lou (whose last name was never revealed) was a transparent analog to Cindy Lou Who, a major supporting character in the classic Dr. Seus book How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

In Thor #444, Cindy Lou was a homeless girl who lived beneath the streets of New York City with her dog Max (who she dressed in a Santa costume for Christmas). Cindy Lou befriended the Groon, an apparent Morlock who stole Christmas presents from surface dwellers to give to homeless people living in the sewers.
