Sixteen people died during the New York City subway construction in 1903. The city covered up their deaths. These individuals remained in the subways as ghosts, haunting the place they had been killed. In modern times, the mutant super-hero Nightcrawler was able to uncover the truth about these deaths and reveal it to the world. Finally, these spirits were able to cross over to their eternal reward.
