Technically, Lailah is a "seraph." She is the daughter of Shaitan and Moloch, who are best known as demons. Seraphs are almost always thought of as angels, but Lailah is apparently not an "angel" in the traditional Heavenly sense. She seems to be associated more with demonic, evil forces. Lailah's paternal grandfather is Raziel, an archangel associated with Kaballah (or Jewish mysticism).
