Charles Casey was a Maine banker who was the father of Ginnie. Ginnie was the girlfriend of fellow high school student Trent Skoglund, a member of the Church of Asgard (also known as the Church of Thor). The villainous Asgardian trickster Loki posed as a human Church of Asgard branch leader and tricked Charles Casey into firing a gun. This action triggered a violent conflict between the Church of Asgard followers and members of other religious groups. The violence apparently left Ginnie's boyfriend Trent dead or severely injured.
