Lars Skoglund was a Boston fisherman who was a sincere member of the newly established Church of Asgard (also known as the "Church of Thor"). Lars Skoglund's sister Mary was a Catholic nun, so we can assume that Lars himself was raised as a Catholic and joined the Church of Asgard as an adult. Lars Skoglund's son Trent was also a member of the Church of Asgard. In a very unfortunate incident, Trent was killed during a battle between the Church of Asgard and other religious groups. The villainous Asgardian Loki had posed as a human branch leader of the Church of Asgard and had inflamed tensions between this church and other religious groups.
