Poppa was a mutant who was the leader of the Underground. The Underground presented itself as a shelter for wayward mutants. But really, Poppa was a slaver. He sold the slaves he gathered through the Underground to the highest bidder. He was confronted by the radical mtuant rights activist Magneto, who defeated him and probably killed him.
