Harold Allnut was a mute midget mechanical genius who worked in the Batcave for many years. The villain Hush offered Harold a new body with functioning vocal chords in exchange for Batman's secret identity. Harold revealed Batman's secret identity to Hush, and then Hush promptly killed Harold, rather than fulfilling his end of the bargain.
