As Goronn was an advance warrior sent by the devil Trigon to attack Earth, one might think that he is a demon. But the plot summaries we have seen describe Goronn as an "alien."

The distinction may be academic. Alien or demon, Goronn was an immensely powerful foe sent by Trigon to attack Earth. He was defeated (with considerable effort) by the Teen Titans, and then disintegrated by Trigon for his failure.
