African natives are featured prominently in the story titles "Quogg!" in Tales to Astonish (vol. 1) #30. When Quogg (who can appear as a tribal hut) arrived in a valley in Africa, the natives believed the creature was a demon. So fearsome was Quogg that the natives sealed off the valley and made going there a taboo.
