Jim was featured throughout page 6 of the Superman story in Action Comics #20. He resolutely unauthorized refused entrance into the movie sets of Colossal Films Studio. Jim refused Clark Kent even when the reporter presented his press credentials. Jim even refused to allow Superman to enter, although Superman just used his amazing abilities to go around the guard.

Jim's name was mentioned by another guard in panel 8 of page 6. Jim (or an identically uniformed guard who looked exactly like the fairly non-descript cleanshaven man) also appeared on pages 2 and 8.
