A banker from the First National Bank handed over a satchel with $50,000 payroll money in it to a payroll messenger. The money was to be delivered to Mr. Galbraith. "But forty-five minutes later" we see Mr. Galbraith in his office speaking angrily on the phone to the bank, saying, "Galbraith speaking! Where is that messenger? Where? WHERE?"

The payroll messenger is found by police, wandering the streets with no memory of what happened. This is the first of many similar incidents. Ultimately Superman investigates and finds that the mysterious mentalist Medini is hypnotizing people in order to steal money.

Galbraith, a slim middle-aged man in a solid green suit, was seen only in panel 3 of page 1 and probably also in panel 1 of page 2.

After the payroll messenger was found by police, we next see the messenger in an office labelled "PRIVATE" on the glass window portion of the door. Two men in green suits are there questioning the payroll messenger. A uniformed police officer stands quietly to the side. One of the green suit-wearing gentlemen is apparently Galbraith because. He has the same brown hair seen on Galbraith on the previous page. This man addresses the payroll messenger, saying, "But surely you couldn't forget what happened to $50,000! Think, man!"

The payroll messenger, who wears a yellow suit, says, "I remember leaving with the money -- then facing the police without it. All else is a blank!"

The other man in a green suit, who is apparently the same bank manager seen on the previous page, says angrily, "The man's a thief, I tell you!"
