Det. Mack was a police detective who investigated the disappearance of young Alex Aaron, a student at S. Lieberman Elementary School. What Det. Mack did not realize was that Alex was actually the son of Ares, the Greco-Roman god of war. At one point Det. Mack tried to stop Ares from leaving. Ares shot him.
