Allan Quatermain experienced a mystical rejuvenation when he exposed himself to the Fire of Life. In order to hide this fact, he adopted the identity of "Allan Quatermain, Jr.," posing as his own son. This was really the same character, however. "Allan Quatermain, Jr." first appeared in the story titled "The New Traveller's Almanac," published in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Volume II (2003-2003). This was written by Alan Moore.
