Leonard appeared as a major supporting character in a single story: the story titled "Fight at the Museum" published in Amazing Spider-Man #600 (Sep. 2009). His last name was never revealed. His first name - "Leonard" - was revealed in the bottom right-hand corner of panel 6 on page 4, in a word balloon in which his mother yells his name loudly.

Leonard's mother was a "Parental Assistant" accompanying her son as part of a group of grade school students to the Smithsonian National Design Museum in New York City. Leonard's mother heard her son laughing at the Spider-Mobile on display the museum. Leonard was also taking this opportunity to laugh at Spider-Man. His mother yelled at him, incensed because her husband had once been saved by a fire by Spider-Man, who she now regards as a national hero.
