In Justice League of America (vol. 2) #36 (Oct. 2009), Professor Amos Fortune, leader of the Royal Flush Gang, killed Eddie Markham (a.k.a. "Two of Clubs") and the other Royal Flush Gang members Eddie was working with when they failed a mission. In the next issue, Eddie's widow avenged her husband by shooting Professor Fortune, apparently killing him.
