Achernonians were introduced in Thor Annual #6. They are purple-skinned humanoids native to the planet Achernon. An alien race known as "Achernonians" was also depicted in Silver Surfer (vol. 3) #12. We are not yet certain whether or not this is the same race, or a different race which has the same name.

The best known member of the Achernonian race is the villainous Brahl, who is also known as "Intangible."

The Achernonians are depicted as superstitious, hedonistic, and self-centered.
