Isobel Aguirre traveled to the monastery of the so-called "Monks of Doom" to investigate whether the monks, ostensibly men of peace, were actually responsible for turning Victor Von Doom into the villainous Doctor Doom.

The villain Crucible kidnapped Isobel Aguirre and Gordon Clay. Crucible temporarily turned Isobel into a gargoyle - composed entirely of stone except for her face, which remained flesh.
