As many women of the Acroyear race are, Illyrie was a warrior. She was the second-in-command over the Acroyear military, answering directly to Prince Acroyear. During the time she served in that position, she fell in love with Acroyear, but her feelings were apparently not reciprocated.
Illyrie ultimately sacrificed herself to bring the villainous Laios to justice.
