A group of three male mimes wearing traditional French mime attire and make-up stole "psychomorph transistors" (a technology that "makes thoughts real") from the Institute for Psychic Research. With these transistors attached to the back of their necks, they could "make thoughts real." This means they could mentally create weapon such as guns and swords. The weapons they mentally created were invisible, but still had physical effect. These invisible objects could be deadly.

The mimes battled the mercenary Deadpool, who had been hired by the Institute to retrieve the stolen technology. Deadpool defeated the mimes in battle and returned the technology to the Institute.

The size of the Institute is not made clear. At least four scientists work there. One female scientist and three men were seen, all wearing lab coats, in a flashback scene in which Deadpool recalls being briefed by the Institute.
