Yandroth created the Omegatron using a combination of technology and magic. The Omegatron was a doomsday machine with computer intelligence. Yandroth imbued it with his own personality and a portion of his own essence. It was, in some ways, an extension of himself, although it was physically distinct. The device was designed to be activated when Yandroth's physical body did. Its purpose was to devastate Eath by detonating every nuclear stockpile on Earth simultaneously.

Yandroth's Omegatron was the threat that brought the Defenders together for their very first adventure together.
