Roy Jamison is a newspaper publisher who used subterfuge to obtain a photograph of the Chief (Niles Caulder, leader of the Doom Patrol). Roy Jamison further tried to reveal to the world the Chief's true identity and origin, which is information that the Chief definitely wanted kept secret. The Chief supplied false information to the newspaper, which the newspaper published. The Chief was thus able to maintain much of his anonymity.

The false story (alleging the Chief is an alien) helped the Doom Patrol draw out and capture a group of actual aliens who were plotting against Earth.
