Daryl Zorne invited the entire Daily Planet staff to audition to play themselves in the Superman movie he was set to direct. But Zorne initially didn't think Lois Lane had any acting skill or star potential. Superman secretly intervened to stage incidents which would prompt Lois Lane to emote, thus giving her the chance to demonstrate her thespian talents in front of Zorne.
