The character "Senator Victor Alcasan" is named after a murderer character in C.S. Lewis's That Hideous Strength.

Senator Victor Alcasan was campaigning as part of his bid to become the President of the United States when he was assassinated in Colorado in the first issue of the Dead@17: Revolution mini series.

It turned out that the real Victor Alcasan had been killed and replaced by the demon Bolabogg.
