Roberto Alonzo was a spokesperson for and an ardent member of the group known as the Original Gothamite ("OGs"). This was a militant advocacy organization that was disgruntled about how they have suffered since Gotham returned to being part of the United States (after a temporary separation).

Roberto Alonzo was introduced in Detective Comics #748 and died in the same issue. He was a former associate of the villainous crimelord known as the "Black Mask." But Alonzo himself was not classified as a "villain" in the story in which he appeared.

Roberto Alonzo was framed for violent terrorist crimes that were actually perpetuated by newly paroled criminal Francis Piper.
