Ambrose is a powerful sorcerer who often appears as a child. He does this in order to cause other people to underestimate him.

Merlin Ambrose is the son of Lord Oblivion, who is apparently the Devil.

Within the Elementals comics, Ambrose appears originally as a distinct, original character. He is eventually identified as Merlin of King Arthur's court, so theoretically this record could be combined with the main Merlin character. But Ambrose is a distinctive enough treatment that we are currently treating him as a unique character.
