After the Super Patriot's base blew up (after his conflict with the Defenders, the lone surviving henchman from the Super Patriot's team emerged and shot Valkyrie. This was a fatal blow and actually killed the Asgardian heroine (although subsequent efforts to bring her back to life succeeded).
