The new All-American Kid is the grand-nephew of the World War II-era All-American Kid. Just as his great-uncle was Mr. America's sidekick, this fledgling hero dreams of becoming the new Mr. America's sidekick.
Mister America used the new All-American Kid's real name in panel 6 on page 11 in Justice Society of America (vol. 3) #31 (Nov. 2009) when he said to the youth, "I can't for a second believe you're the real Billy Armstrong. No one related to the original All-American Kid could have done this." This exchange took place during an interrogation in which Mister America, the Flash (Jay Garrick) and Power Girl questioned the All-American Kid about video footage of him stabbing Mr. Terrific. The All-American Kid was apparently mind-controlled at the time, but his fellow heroes did not yet know this.
